I’m not convinced I have a secret skill, what I do have is patience in the way I approach my work and that gives me an ability to solve problems. Diagnosing cars is really about solving problems.
Even if it’s just a noise when your car is turning a corner, a mechanics mind will go into diagnosis mode. We can see mechanical components in our minds, we see them moving and can visualize how that noise might be happening.
To people who don’t know anything about cars that certainly looks like a Superman-level skill.
An ability or skill I wish I had is one I’m actually working on, organizing my thoughts and writing them down so I can come back to them later. I don’t really believe in wishing for abilities you can’t work toward. I believe the ability I want now is achievable but best of all I’m enjoying exploring it.
